Gubernur Sudirman menjelaskan pada rekan media, peringatan Hari Pahlawan bertujuan untuk mengenang kembali jasa para pahlawan dan kita minta para pemuda untuk menanamkan kembali semangat nasionalisme dan cinta tanah air.” Pemerintah memperingatinya setiap tahun sebagai momen refleksi atas pengorbanan para pahlawan serta sebagai upaya menyatukan seluruh elemen bangsa dalam menjaga persatuan dan kemerdekaan yang telah diperjuangkan dengan penuh pengorbanan.” Ucap Pjs. Selain itu Kata Pjs. Gubernur Sudirman Makna Hari Pahlawan 10 November 1945, sebuah pengingat bagi penerus bangsa jika kemerdekaan bangsa ini tidak diraih dengan mudah. Tak hanya harta, tetapi nyawa juga menjadi pertaruhan para pejuang demi mendapatkan kemerdekaan.” Momen perjuangan yang sarat dengan nilai-nilai pengorbanan, pengabdian, dan ketulusan dari para pahlawan inilah yang bisa diteladani dan juga diamalkan oleh para penerus bangsa dalam menjalankan kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara.” Pungkasnya.
Sementara itu Korem 042/Gapu Brigjen TNI Heri Purwanto membacakan pidato tertulis Menteri Sosial Republik Indonesia Saifullah Yusuf menyampaikan, Semua patut bersyukur karena di Bumi Nusantara ini banyak dilahirkan sosok para pahlawan, para mujahid pemberani dengan segala pengorbanannya berhasil membentuk NKRI.” Mereka adalah para patriot bangsa yang telah mengorbankan jiwa dan raganya untuk mencapai Indonesia merdeka, dan kini mewariskannya kepada kita semua untuk diteruskan demi mencapai cita-cita Indonesia yang sejahtera, adil dan Makmur.” Ucapnya.
“Tema Peringatan hari Pahlawan Tahun 2024 adalah; “Teladani Pahlawanmu, Cintal Negerimu”. Tema ini mengandung makna yang dalam. “Teladani Pahlawanmu”, berarti bahwa semua olah pikiran dan perbuatan harus senantiasa diilhami oleh semangat kepahlawanan. Adapun “Cintai Negerimu” mengandung makna bahwa apapun bentuk pengabdian kita harus memberikan sumbangsih yang berarti bagi kemajuan bangsa Indonesia. Terlebih dalam situasi global yang sukar diprediksi ini maka mencintai negeri adalah juga dengan memperkuat jalinan kesetiakawanan sosial, memperkuat persatuan dan solidaritas sosial, menghidupkan kembali nilai sosial persaudaraan sesama anak bangsa.” Lanjutnya.
Dikatakan Korem, Proses perjuangan pembangunan bangsa senantiasa berbeda bentuknya dari tahun ke tahun, hal ini terkait dengan perubahan lingkungan strategis bangsa Indonesia.” Pada setiap masa akan berbeda tantangannya, peluangnya, kekuatannya dan keterbatasannya. Ketika dahulu implementasi kepahlawanan adalah dengan semangat mendobrak, menjebol dan meruntuhkan bangunan struktur kolonialisme penjajah, maka saat ini implementasinya adalah meruntuhkan kultur dan struktur kemiskinan dan kebodohan yang menjadi akar masalah sosial di Indonesia.” Katanya.
“Semangat kepahlawanan harus menjalar pada semangat membangun, menciptakan kemakmuran masyarakat, mewujudkan perlindungan sosial sepanjang hayat, mewujudkan kesejahteraan sosial yang inklusif untuk rakyat dimanapun berada. Kemajuan sebuah bangsa bukan saja diukur dari kemampuannya mengejar pertumbuhan ekonomi, namun kemajuan sebuah bangsa juga diukur dari kemampuannnya mengelola. permasalahan sosial.” Sambungnya.
